The Fourth!

We had such a fun Fourth out at Rockport Reservoir. My family, Jennifer's, and Joey and Justin came out to play. Jennifer and Joe got there a day ahead of us. We were still playing with the Millecam's. :) My Mom and Dad and Suz, Caroline, and Cody were day visitors. Caroline stayed in a tent for the first time.... and I think the last according to her. :) It was so fun, riding jet ski's and playing in the water, and trying to fish. :) No such luck with all the boats and trying to shore fish. We borrowed a Friends 1974 camper trailer and loved it. We just ran in from the rain and slept great and cooked meals.... A camper trailer is defiantly in the plans for the Davis family. That's my kind of camping. Taylor, Caroline and Anna on their "boat". They found this huge log and paddled it out all over the place. They wanted to stay in that thing forever.

Gracie waiting to ride the jet ski's. The perfect way to be on the lake for her. Fun, and no getting wet. She has a real thing about getting her face wet and the lake was a bit too scary for her. We are used to crystal clear pool water, :)

Justin and his air soft gun. I believe more then one bird or groundhog was harmed in our stay between him and Taylor. :)

Joey and Moni's visit...

We had a blast going to the Zoo with Joey and Monica. Apparently everyone else got the memo that is was going to be a nice cool day with a little rain.... NOT! Our weather guys really have a tough time getting it right. We skipped out on Raging Waters water park and hit the zoo, ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE IN THE VALLEY. Seriously I have never seen so many people there, and no rain and not a very cool day. BUT.... we had fun anyway. :) The bird show rocked and we all had great seats thanks to Dad and Suz.

It's "SEW" Summer.....

Grace is posing in this beautiful creation.... I love this dress and it will probably always go down as one of my favorite things that I have ever made....Super easy pillowcase dress. I had to get this fabric... It reminded me of CareBears. :)
Anna's VERY FIRST CREATION! She loves this bag and made it by herself. Very little help from me. It was tough but she did amazing. She loved making it and our next project is another bag, just as cute as this one. Way to go Anna Banana. You got skills girl.

So it's been a while.......

Caroline and Anna with one of their "plays" on the tramp. They crack us up every time and are totally hilarious.... Grace was the judge. :)

So it's been about 8 months since my last post? Wow. Time flies when you are having fun , or stressed out. :) We seem to be a bit of both around here but always happy together! I stress myself every time I post on here thinking I need to go exactly in order of date and time... but I give up. I have learned you gotta roll with it and do what ya can, and if I am going to update, It's going to be out of order! Time is precious and I only have a little. :)

So in a nut shell, summer has been awesome and I love the warmer weather! Busy is not a bad thing in the summer. The weather here in Utah is so beautiful right now. This is my favorite time of year here in Suncrest. Our community pool opened this summer and that has been awesome. I am still way too chicken to get in that cold water, (I am used to swimming in 100 degrees plus, and we haven't hit that yet, knock on wood) but the kids love it. And you can't beat free! The movies in the park are so fun too. We had a blast camping with my family over the fourth and we were so close to town, yet felt so far away, that Jack was able to run into work and come back to party again. We have been teaching Anna to sew this summer. I'll post some pics of that. She loves it. And the girls had some fun birthday's. Low key, but very fun.

Our biggest and best surprise of the summer is Jack's new job. He is now working for Fetzer's and loves his job. He now has a full 2 weeks under his belt and he loves it. He is a project manager and oversees projects from way before they begin to the end, His first big project is Macy's here in Downtown Salt Lake. He will travel some and hopefully get to see some cool parts of this country and other's, and every once in a while maybe I'll get to tag along. Vacations are few and far between over here so it would be so fun to get away. We are so happy and so blessed to have this new job for him and our family.

On to the fun stuff..... PICTURES!

One more quick project.....

This is Taylor's Monkey neck pillow. This pillow was promised to him at Easter when all the girls got aprons. (see April posts) He of course didn't want an apron and I thought this was a good alternative. Taylor chose the fabrics (in April) and I promised to get it done.... Well it's only a "few" months later and it's done! Started Monday and done Tuesday. (With all the life and craziness in between) Everyone loved it so much they all want one now. Even Jack. :) He told Taylor his next plane trip he is stealing it. This was not the easiest animal I have ever made but it was fun. Not sure if anyone else will be getting one anytime soon though. :)
Check out the cute face on this guy.... :)

Recent Projects....

I am breaking from my usual order of things to post a few recent projects... First the aprons... Soon I will have a few up on Ebay to sell. Tell all your friends and I will post the link when they are all finished and up for sale!
This one was a "Very Late" birthday present for Ann (jack's Mom). Well she is my Mom too. :) I just love her and we miss them so much. All I could think of was her looking so cute in this serving Thanksgiving dinner. :) It has a more vintage feel to it.
This is the back side of Sarah's apron.

The front. Unfortunately this pattern had no adjustable straps and it was a bit too big for her neck! I will have to fix that when she comes in January! Next time this one is made It will have adjustable straps!!!! :) Love you Sarah.

The back of Gracie's Halloween apron. Too bad she can't model all my aprons for me. She was begging for another and this pattern was so cute and easy!

The front of the apron. Cute girl!

Happy 14th Birthday Cheyenne!!!!!!

On July 16th of this year Cheyenne turned 14!!!!!! Holy Cow. Time flies. It was just yesterday that I was telling her she can't go to Stake dances till she is 14, thinking that is a lifetime away, and now she can go!!!!!! Wow. We had a fun birthday party this year with just a couple of her friends and all the kids joined in too. We decided to have a cupcake decorating party! We looked up as many cupcakes as we could and bought supplies. They came up with some of the cutest cupcakes and had a blast! And we all went to the dollar theatre and saw Iron Man 2. (good movie) Cheyenne is a beautiful daughter and I love being with her. She is friendly and kind, helpful and fun, a great student and a great writer, and such a great singer. She has a beautiful spirit and Heavenly Father has blessed her with a gift of being able to express herself so well with her words. Her talents are many and her gifts form Heavenly Father astound me. I am so grateful to be her mother, and too have her a part of our family. Check out the cool cupcakes we made together. :) Love you Chy. Her Cherry Happy Birthday Cupcake.....
